Paul has spent over 20 years in Corporate Governance Technology and leads the AI programme at Strategic Tutors. AI has moved considerably since our original AI in Corporate Governance programme in 2025. Generative AI has become more capable, AI is increasingly being embedded into workflows and systems, agentic AI is moving into practical organisational use, and organisations are gaining far greater ability to configure and build sophisticated AI systems internally. For governance professionals, this changes the question from simply “How can I use AI?” to understanding where AI fits into corporate governance work, what should and should not be delegated to it and how AI systems can be made safe and fit for governance purposes. This updated 90-minute session brings those developments together through a corporate governance lens. The three-part learning journey 1. Understand AI The essential foundations needed to understand modern AI, its capabilities, limitations and direction of travel. 2. Understand AI in corporate governance How AI is being applied across board, entity and stakeholder governance; how different forms of AI use are emerging; and how the role of the governance professional is changing. 3. Understand how to make AI systems safe and fit for corporate governance The key questions around purpose, data, authority, controls, assurance, transparency and accountability—whether systems are bought, configured, built internally or assembled from multiple technologies.
