Course Decription

Mentored Programme The aim of this programme is to prepare students for the Chartered Governance Institute Qualifying Programme Part 1 exam in Interpreting Financial & Accounting Information. The programme develops knowledge of finance and accounting and the ability to use that knowledge to interpret financial and accounting information when providing advice to the board, or a similar decision-making body, in strategy development and/or decision-making. The "Mentored" programme is for students who wish to either attend the weekly live online “Immersive” sessions or self-study watching the recordings at their own pace. At the same time students have access to their own private tutor to help them develop their exam technique through marked assignments and to answer any questions that they may have about syllabus content. The live online weekly “Immersive” classes are delivered by 12 weekly sessions on Thursdays from 6.30pm to 9.00pm starting on 27th August 2026 and finishing on 12th November 2026. Students can also watch the recordings of these sessions at their own pace. In addition to the current “Immersive” classes, students have access to our recording archive and learning resources which focus on key subject areas and most importantly how to pass the exam. Students have up to 5 hours of 1-2-1 private tuition with their Mentor delivered via Zoom. The student can choose how this time is split across 15 slots of 20 minutes each. Students can combine slots in to longer sessions. Bootcamp - 2 Day Revision Weekend The aim of this course is to ensure students are “exam ready” The main focus of this course will be exam technique and practice questions. During this course we will also revisit certain key aspects of the syllabus but students attending this course are expected to have a good working knowledge of the syllabus content beforehand. The course is delivered live online over two full days from 09.00am to 4.30pm on 14th & 15th November 2026. Note: The first and last sessions listed below are simply the start and end dates of this "Mentored" programme. They are not sessions that you need to attend. Our Guarantee For students that complete all of the programme requirements & the optional homework assignments, having taken the November 2026 exam, should they need to re-sit the exam, they can complete the "Mentored" programme again for free.
